Scouting the Jayhawks

This weekend, No. 4 Kansas comes to Stillwater.

And it's not for a basketball game.

In what has become a topsy-turvy season, the JAYHAWKS are putting together the kind of season fans in blue expect inside Phog Allen Fieldhouse. But this time, it's been happening on the turf at Memorial Stadium, home to KU's football team.

That's right, KU football is in the top five in the AP poll and fourth in the BCS rankings system. Beginning with four games against teams not able to defend itself, the Jayhawks got fat and happy on the easy, early-season wins. Then came Big 12 play and people said they'd fall because conference games were much tougher. Tell that to the Hawks, who are sitting pretty in the Big 12 North with a 5-0 mark. And now KU is in a position to make a run for a Big 12 football title and a BCS poll - maybe even the national title game.

But to get to that point, the Jayhawks have to keep things going. The next obstacle ahead is Oklahoma State, a team with an amazing offense and an iffy defense.
