The University of Louisville football team hosted a group of approximately 120 prospects Thursday night. Cardinalsports.com has a look at some names no one else will bring you, as well as updates on names you might know, includingDexter Heyman.
Here is a look at several of the prospects we spotted in attendance:
The Male H.S. star Heyman continues to be a fixture on the Louisville sideline. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound do-it-all athlete for the Bulldogs went up and introduced himself to fellow recruit Tyler Bass, a 6-foot-3 athlete/quarterback from Stockbridge, Ga.
Heyman, a three-star prospect, didn't provide any updates in his recruitment although he did admit he is tiring of the recruiting process. He is said to be considering Ohio State, Kentucky, and Tennessee, along with Louisville.
The first new name on the visit list was Chris Williams, a 6-foot-1, 220-pound outside linebacker from Leflore H.S. in Mobile, Ala. In addition to Louisville, Williams is also hearing from UL-Lafayette, Southern Miss, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, and Auburn.
Greg Shotwell, a 6-foot, 190-pound safety from Elyria H.S. in Ohio was also in attendance. He is also hearing from Duke, Pittsburgh, Akron, and Ohio.
Joseph Cotton, a 6-foot-3, 200-pound defensive end/tight end from Huffman H.S. in Birmingham, Ala. was spotted on the sidelines. He said he speaks regularly to UofL assistant coach Greg Nord.
Sleeper safety Tatum Lewis of George Rogers Clark H.S. was also in attendance. Lewis, a 6-foot, 210-pound prospect, also has interest from Kentucky, EKU, and WKU.
Iroquois defensive end/tight end Jonathan Montgomery has been at nearly all of the games this season. The 6-foot-5, 245-pound prospect picked up an offer from Murray State within the past couple of weeks and is also considering walking on for the Cards.
Another new name is Princeton H.S. (Cincinnati, Ohio) offensive lineman Malcolm Jones. The 6-foot-5, 290-pound prospect is getting interest from Louisville, Murray State, EKU, Tennesse Tech, Ohio U., and Miami (Ohio).
A contingent of prospects from new 5A Indiana State Football Champion Carmel H.S. was also in attendance. In addition to commitment Ryan Barnes (6-7, 295, OL), Carmel was also represented by 2009 prospects Joey Barnes (6-foot, 265, OL) and huge offensive tackle Brooks Michael (6-7, 280).
2009 tight end Shajaun Grace made his second visit to UofL this season. The 6-foot-3, 226-pound tight end continues to receive interest from the Cardinals.
Another Male Bulldog on the sideline prior to the game was 2009 running back Justin Green. Green's brother, Marcus (who played for Ohio State) said his brother was looking forward to a huge senior season.
