Caldwell makes the call

Alabama center Antoine Caldwell has decided to stay at the Capstone for one more season rather than entering the NFL Draft.

The Montgomery native told reporters his decision xxx.

"quote here," Caldwell said.

Caldwell has already earned his undergraduate degree, which drove speculation that he might leave early despite draft projections that placed him outside the first round.

A preseason All-Southeastern Conference pick, Caldwell's decision ensures the Crimson Tide will lose only one starter (Justin Britt) off its offensive line from last season.

Alabama's most versatile lineman, Caldwell made at least one start at center, guard and tackle as a junior. Most of those came at center or guard, where he anchored the Alabama front through the first half of the season before a four-game suspension for improper receipt of textbooks.

Caldwell returned from suspension for the Auburn game, where he started at right tackle. He returned to center for an Independence Bowl victory over Colorado.
