Graham receives first offer

Waco(TX)Midway tight end Trey Graham is beginning to make a big scratch on the recruiting surface. Before it' all said and done, the 6-foot-5, 220-pounder may end up as the top rated player at his position in Texas in the 2009 class.

Graham is getting interest from team around the southwest including Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, TCU and as far east as Clemson.

Graham received his first offer last week when the TCU Horned Frogs extended him one on Wednesday. The tight end likes what the Frogs have to offer.

"I'm really excited to have an offer from them," he said. "I ready to meet the coaches and see the facilities and everything. I like a lot about them, if it came down to it I could see myself playing there."

"I know they are about to use a lot of set with double tight ends so that may change the offense some. I know they've been good the last few seasons and been to a lot of bowl games. I also have an uncle that lives up in Ft. Worth."

Graham says A&M appear to be the closest to offering him next.

"I think if anyone will offer after TCU it has to be A&M," he said. "They want me to come down in the spring to watch the football team and meet the new coaches and I think that's pretty big."

With two junior days under his belt, Oklahoma State and A&M, and two invites from TCU and Texas on Feb. 23, Graham says he will likely head south next weekend.

"I'm going down to the Texas junior day on the 23rd," he said.

As a junior Graham was first-team all 15-4A, second-team All-Academic(98.5), second-team All-Centex, and third-team All-State class 4A.
