Rivals100 linebacker visits Georgia

It looks to be a very deep and talented year at linebacker in Georgia in 2009 and one of the best is Eric Fields. Fields is listed in the Rivals100, he has reeled in many top offers already, and he looks to be one of the more sought after prospects in the state of Georgia. This hard hitter was up in Athens over the weekend for Junior Day and he talks about it here.

"The visit was pretty exciting," Fields said, "I got to meet Knowshon Moreno, Matthew Stafford, Mohamed Massaquoi, Asher Allen, and some of the new guys that just moved it. They were all real cool and they answered all the questions from us and the parents."

Other than meeting and talking with some current players, the 6-foot-2, 205-pound linebacker out of Warner Robins (Ga.) spent some time with the coaching staff.

"I talked to Coach John Lilly, Coach Rodney Garner, Coach John Jancek, and Coach Mark Richt while I was there."

"I probably talked to Coach Jancek and Coach Richt the most, but Coach Lilly and Coach Garner were cool. They just told me it was nice to see me and things like that."

"Coach Jancek said that too - he said he had not seen me in a while, so he thanked me for coming and he said he wanted to stay in touch better. I got his phone number and stuff and he said he wanted me back up there in March, so I could watch spring practice and stuff."
