Future Impact: Perry
Signing Day's first announcement for the Trojans was a big one, and it came at a position of need for USC.
6-foot-4, 240-pound defensive end Nick Perry from Detroit (Mich.) made it official for USC this morning selecting the Trojans over Michigan, Michigan State and Miami.
Perry's talent and athleticism is undoubtedly prevalent, especially after the senior season he recorded. In an amazing effort playing defensive end, linebacker, and defensive tackle for his team, Perry recorded 147 tackles and 36 sacks.
He shattered the state sack record by double digits, and helped lead his team win a state championship - the first by a Detroit public school in 37 years. Despite the prodigious senior season, the first step of Perry's journey began in San Antonio as a junior.
The Army National Combine in San Antonio takes place before the Army All-American Bowl is a chance for underclassmen to showcase their talent and ability. The alumni list from the combine is impressive in itself, but one aspect of the camp always seems to stick out, the extremely slow 40 times that are recorded.
