Oku gets his long awaited Sooner offer

There may have been some serious tornado warnings rolling through Midwest City, Okla. on Sunday night but some of the town's biggest news came on Friday when Oklahoma decided to offer Carl Albert potential five-star running back David Oku. In a strange twist of fate Oku wasn't supposed to have his offer from Oklahoma for a few more days but due to some strange scheduling picked it up early.

"Actually Oklahoma wanted myself and Daytawion Lowe to come to Norman on Wednesday for their first practice but I wasn't able to go, so coach Gundy told me that since I couldn't come down that I had an offer already in the mail," Oku said. "He told me that it was just him being nitpicky with his offers and making sure my grades were taken care off."

Now though it seems that the plans the star running back had made have fallen through and he will be joining his safety teammate in Norman for the opening of Oklahoma's spring practices.

"The plans I had made kind of fell through so we're both going down there," he explained. "I think they are going to offer Daytawion, I think that's what coach Bobby Jack Wright had told him.
