Freeman's been busy
Trotwood-Madison (OH) offensive tackle prospect Chris Freeman already possesses the gigantic frame he needs to push guys around like rag dolls on the college level. At 6-foot-9, 325 pounds, it's no surprise the big man is pulling in scholarship offers from the elite teams in the SEC, Big 10, and ACC.
Or is it? The thing about Freeman is he has limited experience on the gridiron. Very limited. Most of his athletic experience has come on a basketball court, until he finally decided to don the pads for his high school in a 2007 playoff game.
It worked, because since that time interest from some of the nation's top football programs has been piling up for Freeman, and while this prospect might be way up in Ohio, Les Miles and company have their recruiting eyes honing in on the Midwest. Freeman received a written scholarship offer from the LSU coaching staff in the mail a couple weeks ago, and despite his distance from Baton Rouge, the offensive lineman seems to like the Tigers as much as they like him.
"Location is not really a problem for me," he said on Tuesday.
