TCU close to offering Kansas DE?
Olathe (KS) North defensive end Kevin Young is becoming a coveted prospect these days. Just last week Young received his first offer from in-state Kansas State. Young just added another offer from a fellow Big 12 north school in Iowa State.
Other such as Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and TCU are showing interest and Young feels TCU may be the next to offer. Young, who stands 6-foot-4, 227-pounds, enjoyed a dominating junior year racking up 180 tackles and 12 sacks in 12 games. For his efforts he earned All-League, All-City, 2nd team All-Metro, and honorable mention All-State honors.
Although he enjoyed a trip last weekend to K-State and is hearing from several programs, Young isn't quite ready to make any type of decision.
"I don't have any favorites," he said. "I'm open to anything."
Young had mentioned that he felt TCU may be close to extending an offer, so is there an interest in the Frogs.
"Yes sir, definitely," he said. "I don't know that much about them, I really haven't done much research on them. They're recruiting me as a defensive end and said I could play some linebacker."
Young will get a chance to see TCU up close this weekend where he'll participate in the Nike Camp at the Ft. Worth campus.
"I'm leaving Friday night and I'll be there Saturday. I'm trying to get something set up to where I can see some things while I'm down there."
