Young son turns McDaniel toward WVU

Circumstances change for highly starred high-school football players as they matriculate at the colleges of their choice. West Virginia fans are familiar with Ryan Mundy, who was receiving little playing time at Michigan and came to the Mountaineers through an old NCAA rule and became a sixth-round draft pick for the Steelers this spring.

Both Devon Lyons and Damon McDaniel are hoping to follow Mundy's footsteps to the University this summer as productive transfers. Lyons, a wide receiver-safety, and McDaniel's (WR) playing time had dwindled at Ohio State and Florida State, respectively. Like Mundy, they battled injuries.
