NoCal QB up to five offers

Quarterback Austyn Carta-Samuels (6-1, 207, 4.63) from San Jose (Calif.) Bellarmine Prep is another signal caller from the Golden State who is blowing up. When Rivals.com first introduced you to Carta-Samuels he was somewhat of a sleeper, but he is a sleeper no more as the talented signal caller has seen his offers climb to five.

The thing that stands out about Carta-Samuels is he has the poise that all the great ones have. He is almost immune to pressure and he's a get it done type of guy. Those are things that translate into an outstanding quarterback.

Carta-Samuels has been working really to get ready for his senior season, but the last couple weeks he has been away from his team.

"I have been away from my team and their workouts because I been pretty much on the road going to camps and visiting colleges," Carta-Samuels said. "That's not fair to my team. I need to be with them working out and as a team getting ready for my senior season. That is why I want to make a quick decision, but a smart one."

Carta-Samuels has offers from Air Force, San Diego State, UNLV, Utah and most recently Purdue where just returned from taking an unofficial visit.
