Redd stands out at BC camp

Silas Redd said it was his goal to receive a verbal offer from Boston College after recently camping with the Eagles but he didn't expect to get one. So when the 2010 running back got word that BC had offered it came as a real surprise.

- as long as he's on the team.

"I don't care if I'm on special teams, defense, offense, whatever position I'm on the field," he said. "I can get five carries a game. I can get 25 carries. I'm still going to play hard."

Two of Redd's high school classmates also had solid performances at Boston College's camp so it is expected major college coaches will be keeping a close eye on King & Low Heywood Thomas for years to come.

Kevin Pierre-Louis is a 6-foot-1, 205-pound outside linebacker who lists early interest from Boston College, Virginia and Penn State. Eric Joyner is a 5-foot-10, 195-pound athlete who is also drawing Division I-A attention. Redd had nothing but good things to say about both teammates.

"I've been playing with (Pierre-Louis) since my first year of playing football," Redd said. "I've been playing with him for nine years. There is no better teammate. He's my brother from another mother. We can be down 30 or we can be up 30 and he'll never quit. He's a ride or die teammate.

"I started playing with Eric my 8th grade year and we've been best friends … We feel we're an elite team in the league this year."
