Wooten was wowed in Athens
Electric four-star wide receiver Rantavious Wooten left south Florida last week and headed north for the University of Georgia. It was unknown up until the time he showed up if he would be in Athens for Dawg Night or not. He got there, he received a lot of attention from the UGA coaches, he got a feel for Athens, and he liked what he saw.
"It was my first time at Georgia and I loved everything about the school," Wooten said. "I did not know what to expect, but I really liked the place, the surroundings, the coaches, the facilities, and everything was great. I can't think of one thing I did not like."
The Dawgs have made Wooten a priority of theirs in 2009 and he showed why in their camp Friday night. There was a lot of talent there and he was arguably the top prospect on the practice fields.
He showed off his quickness, he showed why he makes plays, and he displayed his ability to make something happen anytime he touches the football.
"Nobody could really check me or cover me out there. I came off the line real well, I caught everything, and I think I did really, really well out there. I was not one hundred percent because I have some tendonitis in my left knee, but I still think I showed a lot of speed."
Speed was never a question - he was blowing past defenders all night and he hooked up with UGA commitment Zach Mettenberger quite a few times.
