Bruin Bits - Part II

In part two of Rick Neuheisel's pre-practice press conference, before he started talking about the defense, he talked about how blessed he feels because DeWayne Walker stayed at UCLA and he gave Walker credit for creating a culture of defense at UCLA.

Neuheisel commented that the defense looks out for one another and play disciplined football.

"Dewayne's a detailed coach," Neuheisel said. "And his players follow suit."

"It would have been easy for DeWayne to have gone somewhere so his staying is a huge benefit for this program."

Neuheisel mentioned that his offensive coordinator Norm Chow and Walker have worked together twice before at BYU and USC. It was Walker who with Neuheisel knocked on Chow's door when they were recruiting Chow to come aboard.

Neuheisel reiterated that the three of them are a team and they understand the value of each of them and what they bring to table.
