Bulldogs wrap up two-a-days

The Mississippi State Bulldogs ended their two-a-day practices this afternoon with a bit of an abbreviated session.

The Bulldogs practiced in shorts, shoulder pads and helmets for two hours inside the Palmeiro Center Wednesday wrapping up two-a-day practices for the season.

"We had another pretty good day of work," said head coach Sylvester Croom. "I thought the concentration was good. We were in shorts and focusing primarily on the red zone on both sides of the ball. It wasn't anything special; we just wanted to get them in shorts and get good concentration and hopefully get a little rest. We didn't practice very long today."

With kickoff just over two weeks away, Croom has been pleased with his team's overall effort thus far in camp.

"We have pushed them pretty hard and they have held up well," Croom said. "I think our freshman are getting in that freshman swamp. I think we pushed them pretty hard and some of them got in there quicker than normal. They'll hang in there and next week everybody will start feeling good as we get closer to game time. We're going to push through this week and find out who we're going to get ready for this ball game."
