Neuheisel likes what he sees

So far, so good this week at practice, the tempo is good and the spirit is there. The Oregon State game is another must win for the Bruins, in season of must wins for this team. If the Bruins lose this Saturday they will significantly hurt their bowl aspirations. The way the team has performed in practice seems to understand this so it has been a good week.

UCLA head coach Rick Neuheisel was pleased with his team's effort.

Neuheisel: "Another good practice. I am hopeful that we can continue the effort into tomorrow and I know we will. I know we will get great effort tomorrow and great concentration and hopefully we will give our best effort in terms of our execution and our ability to play our best game on Saturday."

Injury updates?

Neuheisel: "Tony Dye hurt his foot. We hope he will be back by the game, but he was out today. He hurt his foot today. Craig Sheppard tweaked a hamstring, yesterday and is probably questionable or doubtful for the game. Rosario Nelson was downgraded to probably doubtful."

And (defensive line coach) Todd Howard?

Neuheisel: "Todd could be gone for a long, long time. When it starts to creep into your coaching staff that's when you know you are under that black cloud."
