Tate is closing in on a decision
Rivals100 athlete Donavan Tate has taken only one official visit, but that may be all he needs. After looking at his offer list, talking to coaches, and evaluating many schools, the talented Peach State athlete is closing in on a decision.
"I didn't end up making that trip to North Carolina because I cracked my rib in the second quarter against Gainesville last Friday," said Tate.
Tate and the Cartersville Purple Hurricanes fell to the Red Elephants 42-28, but Tate still threw for 253 yards and four touchdowns. He will now take it easy for the next month.
"It will take four to six weeks to heal, so I am just going to rest a little. I will be good to go for baseball."
That injury led to the cancellation of Tate's visit to UNC, but his planned trip to Alabama will not place either. In fact, Tate may not take another official visit before making his decision.
"I called Coach [Bobby] Williams and told him I would not be visiting Alabama this weekend on Tuesday night. I don't think I am going to take anymore official visits because I don't think I need to."
