DB Bolden excited after first visit
Safety Tavon Bolden has been patient throughout the recruiting process, hoping his stock will rise and more schools will start to show interest. Boston College is one school that has made it clear they are interested and he took an official visit over the weekend. How did the experience go for him?
The 6-foot-2, 200-pound safety from Houston (Tex.) Aldine is the teammate of Mike Williams, and both of them were in town for their officials.
"I'd say it went very well. When we got there we went to the campus and ate. From there they just showed us the campus and the facilities. They were nice. We met with the administrator for academics and we watched them practice a little bit."
Bolden and Williams both hold offers from the Eagles, and according to Williams a pair of BC coaches will be stopping by Houston this week for in-home visits with the duo.
"I think Boston College stacks up pretty well (against other schools)," Bolden continued. "It was my first visit but I'd say they're really at the top of my list."
Nonetheless, Bolden wants to make sure he has evaluated all of his possible options before he makes his decision.
"I've been hearing the most from Boston College, Purdue and California. Hopefully I'll be able to take other visits. I'm supposed to be going to Purdue sometime before long.
Bolden said he is being recruited as an athlete with the potential to play safety or wide receiver in college.
Have he and Williams discussed the likelihood that they will go to college together, and is that a priority?
"Me and Mike talked about it a little bit," he said. "Mostly we talked about the BC situation as far as us maybe going together. We didn't really say anything final though."
