Spring Primer - Quarterbacks

In less than a month UCLA spring football in all its glory will be blooming and with it all the wishes of a successful season with it. That is the beauty of spring, everybody is undefeated and hope springs eternal.

The Bruins have a lot of the same questions that have dogged them for the last three years and that is quarterback play and the offensive line. If the Bruins get efficient play from these two areas this team should have a great turnaround from their disappointing 4-8 season that started with such promise after the thrilling victory over Tennessee.

One of the battles that Bruin fans and the coaching staff will be watching this spring will be at the quarterback position. Though returning starter, the much maligned, Kevin Craft returns for his senior season the position is up for grabs as there will be an open competition.

At the moment it looks like Craft's biggest threat to take the job will redshirt freshman Kevin Prince. It is obvious that Prince has been very serious about his weight training this offseason as he built up his physique. When watching him throw last Wednesday it was very apparent that he has the strongest arm of the group.
