NJ prospect collecting offers
Barnegat (NJ) Barnegat tight end Jarrett Darmstatter is seeing his recruiting pick up as he now holds double digit offers. Scholarship offers have come in from schools such as Florida State, Michigan State, Tulane, and Syracuse.
"Syracuse offered me about three weeks ago, maybe. I was very excited."
Darmstatter, 6-foot-4, 238 pounds had a solid season on offense and defense a year ago. While on defense he totaled 75 tackles and on offense he recorded 20 receptions for 260 yards and three touchdowns. Despite being able to play on both sides of the ball Syracuse is looking at him for offense.
"They offered me as a tight end because they like my blocking and the way I go out and catch the ball."
The Garden State product has been in touch with his recruiting coordinator and his position coach at Syracuse. Right now all seems to be well between the three.
"Coach Jackson and Coach Casullo are recruiting me," Darmstatter said. "Our relationship is very good so far."
Right now with 10 offers in hand does Darmstatter have any leaders at this time?
"I do not yet. I am just still open to everybody."
Even though he does not have any favorites right now there looks to be a lot of movement in the process during the coming months.
"I would most likely want to make a decision before my senior season starts."
When it comes to playing the position of tight end Darmstatter likes to look up to a current Pro Bowl tight end.
"I like to model my game after Jason Witten. I like that he is a hard noised player and he is very calm when he needs to be."
