Henderson heading to GT for a visit

Gabriel Henderson is a talented 3-star dual-threat quarterback from Raleigh and his star is on the rise outside of North Carolina. Henderson will be visiting the Georgia Tech campus soon and he has a lot of interest in the Yellow Jackets as well as some other teams. Jacketsonline caught up with Henderson to find out a little more about his future and his timetable for committing.

What are your camp plans for the summer time?

I have been getting ready for the upcoming camps. I am going to Georgia Tech on the 10th, and if I do not make it on the 10th, I will be there on the 13th for sure. I am going to Tennessee on the 19th, East Carolina this coming Sunday the 7th and I will probably go to NC State also.

Do you have timeline for narrowing down schools or a commitment?

I plan to make a commitment at the end of this month hopefully.

What is more important to you, a good education or a school that produces NFL talent?

Both are important because I want a good education that I can fall back on and I want to also make it to the league so good coaches is a must.

What schools surprised you by recruiting you?

Illinois, that was pretty random. In addition, South Carolina came out and Georgia Tech surprised me by recruiting me. I was not too familiar with them but now that I have checked out playatgatech.com, I know everything there is to know about them.

Did you have a favorite school growing up?

Yeah, my family and I are big Tar Heel basketball fans. However, in football we really do not have a team anymore. We used to like Florida State a lot but they are so up and down these days we really do not follow them anymore.

What has been your favorite part of visiting college campuses?

It has been great to visit different parts of the United States and see different schools.

Do you have a player that you model your game after?

Vince Young the quarterback from Texas was my favorite player. I have been a huge Calvin Johnson for the longest time; I really like him a lot. I also like Juice Williams from Illinois. My coach says my game reminds him of Juice a lot.

What do you want major in when you get to college?

Business or Communications

Do you have any hobbies or favorite things to do in your spare time?

Yeah, I love to play video games, especially NCAA football.

Do you have a top set of schools right now?

Yeah I have a top eight, Georgia Tech, NC State, East Carolina, Duke, Maryland, Tennessee, Oregon and Virginia in no particular order.
