Ayers enjoys GT visit

Some of the top prospects in the state of Georgia were on hand to participate in the Georgia Tech camp on Saturday. One of the top names at the event was South Paulding cornerback Ryan Ayers. Ayers also brought his little brother Matt along with him on the trip and Jacketsonline caught up with the four-star prospect to see how the trip went.

"My day went great today," he said. "I didn't think I was going to come out here and compete but I did anyway. Towards the end of the first session, I got a little board so I wanted to come out here and do a little something. It wasn't my best performance but I think I did alright."

Ayers grew close to the Georgia Tech coaching staff when he first visited them back for their first Junior day in April. The visit went so well Ayers almost pulled the trigger to become a Yellow Jacket.

"I love the Tech coaches. I have such a good relationship with them right now," he said. "Coach Brian Bohannan is the main coach recruiting me for Tech."

Georgia Tech is not the only school in the hunt for this top prospect.

"My top schools right now are Georgia Tech, Georgia, Alabama, and Auburn," Ayers added. "Everyone is pretty much on an even playing field."

Ayers took a visit to the University of Georgia a couple of weeks ago and came away very impressed by the home state Bulldogs. The biggest question now is what plans does he have for the rest of the summer?

"I don't have any camps set up but I do think I will visit Georgia one last time before I make my decision," he said. "I am going to make my decision before school starts. I want to go ahead and get it out of the way. I don't want recruiting to interfere with my school work and my football team."
