Stevens: Diamond in the rough ready to shine



When the dust settles in a few years, the 2008 recruiting class could go down as one of the best ever at Florida State.



Twenty members of the class saw action as true freshmen and at least eight made a major contribution. Having so many first-year players chip in early is extremely unusual. But what really stands out about the class is that many of the so-called "sleepers" could turn out to be elite college players.



Jermaine Thomas, Andrew Datko and David Spurlock were all rated by Rivals.com as three-star recruits but all three are major impact players. And there are several more former two and three-star recruits that appear to be ready to shine.




One of those former sleeper recruits from the 2008 class that could be on the verge of stardom is Toshmon Stevens.
