Five-star is shortening list

Whoever lands five-star strongside defensive end Ronald Powell (6-4, 230, 4.52) from Moreno Valley (Calif.) Rancho Verde will be getting a heck of player. Powell made the Rivals.com Rivals100 for the class of 2010 landing as the third best recruit in the nation regardless of position. The talented two-way standout, who could name his school, is beginning to shorten his list of schools.

"I'm kind of narrowing things down right now," Powell said. "Florida, USC, Tennessee, UCLA and I have a couple other schools that I'm thinking about. I still want to check out Cal, there are a couple more that I haven't really been able to evaluate.

"To be safe, USC and Florida are my top two schools right now and Tennessee would probably be in the top three," Powell said. "UCLA is also a school that I'm considering."
