Bruins land four-star
The Bruins landed a surprise commit from a four-star player who had recently set up three big time visits with dates and two other big time schools that he was working with dates. Though UCLA was among his top six schools, they weren't one of the schools that were scheduled to get an official visit. All's well, that ends well, for Bruin fans.
The newest Bruin is four-star prospect Tony Jefferson (6-0, 190, 4.5). Though Jefferson is an outstanding two-way standout at running back and linebacker for Eastlake high school, he was recruited by UCLA to play strong safety.
Jefferson talks about his decision making process.
"I was talking with my parents," Jefferson said. "I just felt that this (recruiting) was overwhelming and we prayed about it, my family and I, we're really religious and everything.
"Throughout my life my parents have always been right and whenever I went against it things didn't turn out the way I wanted so I took their word for it this time and everything usually works out and I really felt the coaches at UCLA are honest and I think they have something good going on there.
