DB Christian has one official set

This summer Cullen Christian has seen his stock skyrocket as the offers have continued to pour in. The four-star cornerback from Pennsylvania recently earned a spot in the newest Rivals100, as well.

The 6-foot, 180-pound defensive back is ranked the No. 6 corner and the No. 60 overall prospect in the nation by Rivals.com. While it's inevitable that he will find out about all of those things such as rankings, he's staying focused on preparing for his senior season and deciding where he wants to spend the next few years of his life.

"We're progressing as a team real good," Christian said of his Pittsburgh (Pa.) Penn Hills squad. "Everyone's working hard now. I think it's because the coaches are just expecting more than in the past. The intensity level is up. We're entering camp tomorrow, as a matter of fact, so we've got three-a-days.

"I think I've improved on just about everything. No part of my game has stayed the same. I've been working at making everything better. I think my knowledge of the game is a lot better. Last year was my first year starting so I've just been getting a lot more experience."

As Christian has started to tap into his wealth of potential coaches have taken notice. With so many offers it has been difficult to narrow things down, but Christian has trimmed his list to a very manageable five -- Pittsburgh, Maryland, Michigan, UCLA and West Virginia.

"I haven't been talking to coaches much lately," he explained. "I'm gonna try to make my commitment at sometime during the season. I'll take some visits even though I've taken a lot of visits already. I'll probably take three or four officials, all in September. The only one I've set up now is to UCLA for (September) 5."

Christian will be in Los Angeles for the Bruins' season opener against San Diego State. Why has he decided to start things off with a trip out west?

"They've showed me a lot of interest. It's been a whole lot of interest, especially since they're on the west coast. To me that says they like me a lot. I think they've got a lot to offer."

He said he would also like to take officials to Maryland, West Virginia and Michigan. Being from the city of Pittsburgh he is obviously very familiar with what the Panthers have to offer.

"That's pretty much it but my options are still open," Christian said. "If somebody else comes in with an offer I might give them a look."
