Countdown to kickoff #5 Joe Haden

#5 Player/Hometown/High School: Joe Haden Fort Washington (M.D.) Friendly

Hgt/Wgt: 5-foot-11, 190-lb Position: Cornerback Year: JR
Fall Depth Chart Projection: 1st team cornerback

Spring Review: Like many of his defensive first team brethren, he was mostly a spectator more than he was a participant during the second half of spring drills. However, during the first half of the spring he was his usual self - which is to say he was sticking to wide receivers like glue. He did enough to be one of the few defensive starters to make the GBN Post-Spring Hot 11.

Fall Projection: After the season he had last year and all the preseason accolades heaped upon him (he is a First-Team All-SEC choice by the Coaches), anything less than an All-American season will be considered a disappointment. With him expected to do as well as he is defensively, maybe the most interesting thing to watch for is to see if he sees any action on offense out of the Wildcat formation as has been hinted during fall camp. Watch Haden on his interception returns and it is easy to see he hasn't lost the moves he displayed in high school which helped him garner four-star status coming out of Friendly.

Others who wore the number: Andre Caldwell (2003-07), Earnest Graham (1998-2002), Jacquez Green (1996-97), Ronnie Battle (1994-95), Terrence Foy (1993), Lawrence Wright (1992), Willie McClendon (1988-91), John David Francis (1987), Kerry Watkins (1986), John Davis Francis (1985), Eric Anderson (1983-84), Jim Gainey (1981-82), Bill Kynes (1975-76), David Bowden (1972-73) and Jack Eckdahl (1968-69)
