Dual-sport star picks up first offer
Sugar Land (TX) Dulles junior safety Sheroid Evans is one of the top dual-sport athletes in the Houston area in quite some time. Blessed with great size at 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds, he is also a nationally-ranked track standout.
As a sophomore a year ago, he had the fastest qualifying times in both the 200 and 400 meters heading into the state meet. He finished second in the 400, setting a personal record with a time of 47.18 seconds. He continued to improve this summer as he won the 400 hurdles at the Junior Olympics with a blazing time of 51.54 seconds and finished third in the 200 with a time of 21.37 seconds. However, his play on the gridiron recently garnered him his first college offer.
