Dixon ready for visit

The search for future players has taken the Oregon coaching staff to all corners of the country and the furthest corner from Eugene is South Florida. Monsignor Pace High School in the Miami area is off to a 2-1 start to the 2009 season and one of the biggest reasons is senior linebacker and now running back, Issac Dixon.

Dixon has had to fill in at running back after the starting tailback tore his ACL early in the season. Even though playing both ways can be tiring, it also shows people how strong and athletic Isaac really is. "I'm a defensive guy but whatever it takes for my team to win, I'm going to do it if I am called on by my coaches."

The 5'11, 195-pounder has a big weekend ahead of him as he tries to lead his team to a three and one record on Friday before boarding a plane to head west to the school he has long considered his favorite.

"Yes sir, I will be in Eugene on Saturday and I am real excited about it. So far I have been to USF, FIU and Kansas State on unofficial visits but this will be my first official visit and I'm going to make it count." Dixon has plans to visit a couple of Big East programs later in the season, but for now the Ducks are the only team on his mind.

"I have always liked everything about Oregon. From the uniforms to the facilities, to the way the fly around and play with so much speed, I like it all." Dixon has been waiting for this moment to arrive for months and he plans on making sure he covers all his bases when he gets to Eugene. Since it is likely a one-time trip before he makes his decision, he plans on doing some serious research over the weekend.
