Three-star enjoys Oregon

Three-star defensive end Tony Washington (6-4, 235, 4.7) from Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) Los Osos took his first visit to UTEP and he enjoyed that visit. The Miners are still very much in the hunt for his services. He visited Oregon this past weekend and it appears that visit went well, too.

"Oregon went really well," Washington said. "I was able to see what the city (Eugene) was like since it was my first time up there in Oregon. I was able to see how the people were like.

"I was able to see the players and see how they are as a team, if they were a bunch of individuals or if they were actually a good family and that's what they were," Washington said. "That's what I wanted and liked to see.

Washington was selected to the Rivals.com California Preseason Top 100 team for the class of 2010 landing as a the Golden State's No. 76 prospect at any position.
