Tuesday's Top Tigers

Tuesday's Top Tigers makes its return to PowerMizzou.com. A player's ranking one week has no bearing on his placement on the list the next week. This is our list of the 11 Tigers who had, in our opinion, the best performances in the 33-17 loss to Oklahoma State:

Tuesday's Top Tigers
RANK PLAYER THE ANALYSIS LAST WEEK
1 Danario Alexander, WR Alexander caught nine passes for 180 yards and a touchdown. How good was he? Without Alexander on the field, Missouri might not have scored a point. NR
2 Jasper Simmons, S Simmons was active on defense and had two returns that could have gotten Missouri right back in the game if they could have scored on offense after either. 2
3 Derrick Washington, RB The first half was as well as Washington has run in more than a year. He also caught seven passes. He shouldn't be penalized for not getting a chance after the half. 9
4 De'Vion Moore, RB See above, except for the receptions. NR
5 Carl Gettis, CB Gettis had six tackles. He may be the single biggest reason for the defensive improvement over last year. 3
6 Robert Steeples, CB Too high? Maybe. But Steeples batted two passes away from Hubert Anyiam. He was the only Tiger defensive back to cover Anyiam all night. NR
7 Sean Weatherspoon, LB Spoon is held to such a high standard that very good games seem mediocre. He was active again in Stillwater. 6
8 Andrew Gachkar, LB Gachkar led the team with nine tackles and is developing into an emerging star on defense. 1
9 Kurtis Gregory, OG The line played its best game of the year. Time to recognize some of the guys up front. NR
10 Tim Barnes, C The snaps weren't an issue and the Tigers were strong up front. NR
11 Elvis Fisher, OL See above and above. NR
