PORTLAND, Ore. - At 6-1 on the season, the Jesuit Crusaders are riding high.

Jesuit High School has won championships in almost every sport and accomplished things most schools only aspire to.

But on Monday Jesuit experienced a first as the Army All-American Bowl selection committee made a stop at the school to officially invite senior wide receiver Keanon Lowe to play in the game in January.

This will be the 10th anniversary edition of the game that will be held in the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas at Noon CT on Jan. 9, 2010.

Lowe is the third Oregonian to be named to play in the game with one more selection to follow. It is a banner year for Oregon, as the state has had just two players in the past 10 years play in the big game.

Lowe is a home-grown Oregonian was joined by a crowd of 300-plus to celebrate the selection with he and his family at Jesuit High School.

Flanked by Jesuit coaches and Army staff, Lowe accepted his award with dignity and humility.

"This is a dream come true," said Lowe. "I accomplished one of my goals and all-time dreams. It is truly an honor.

"Just to play in this game is going to be great. The other guys from Oregon and I are going to go to Texas and show what we can do. I thank God I have had people around me that have coached me up to this level and helped me become what I am."

Lowe is committed to play for the Washington Huskies and is excited to be a rebuilding brick in the Husky wall. Coach Steve Sarkisian and the staff at Washington were excited for him after they found out he was selected.

"When I told them they were like screaming on the phone and really excited for me….maybe more than I was and that was great. Those guys up there are great people and there is so much excitement. If you ever meet them you will know what I am talking about."

Lowe will be joined in the game by fellow Oregonians Curtis White of Sheldon High School in Eugene and recent Oregon transplant Gabe King who is now at South Eugene High School. One more player from the state will be announced Tuesday in a ceremony in Portland, Oregon. The Oregon players plan to raise the awareness of Oregon high school football to a new level.

"The guys here can really play and I think this is proof of that. I look forward to this game very much," Lowe said.
