Pac-Tending 01-27-10

"The Pac-10 conference expects the highest standards of sportsmanship from all participants, including coaches. All coaches are expected to conduct themselves in a manner which will reflect credit on their institution and the conference, and to create a positive environment in which to conduct competition."

- Pac-10 commissioner Larry Scott's official reprimand last week of USC head women's hoop coach Michael Cooper after Cooper had made what the conference deemed to be "in appropriate" remarks about UCLA following the Women's of Troy's game with the Bruins.

The 2009-10 championship season for winter sports continues with California standing alone atop the men's hoop standings while Stanford remains undefeated in women's hoop as conference play continues.

Meanwhile, at NCAA HQ, volleyball substitutions will be maintained at 12 per set rather than bumped up to 15 as was proposed.
