Video: How good could the DL be?
COLUMBUS, Ohio - One of the trademarks of the Ohio State defense through the years has been great play from the defensive line. Going into the 2010 season the Buckeyes lose a pair of starters with the departures of Thad Gibson and Todd Denlinger from the starting group and the losses of Lawrence Wilson and Rob Rose from the reserve.
But there is not time to lament who won't be there and it is time to focus on who will be there. The Buckeye line got instantly better when Cameron Heyward announced that he was coming back for his senior season but this line is more than just Heyward and he would be the first to admit that.
Senior defensive tackle Dexter Larimore has been through the wars and has been part of a resurgence of the defensive tackle position through the years. Now as he gets ready to go through his final season he is ready, along with the rest of the team, to do something special and prove once and for all that the Buckeyes are one of the best defenses in all of college football.
Earlier this week we caught up with Larimore after an Ohio State practice to talk about how this line is shaping up and what we can expect going forward with the line play as the Ohio State defense prepares to make another statement with its play on the field.
