Big 12 rankings: Texas owns league

LEAGUE RANKINGS: SEC | Big Ten | Big East | Pac-12 | ACC

Rivals.com analysts rank the 2011 Big 12 recruiting classes after National Signing Day. Check back Thursday for an in-depth, team-by-team breakdown of the league.

1. Texas: Despite nearly the entire staff turning over, the Longhorns held on to all but one commitment. Running back Malcolm Brown could start from Day One.

2. Oklahoma: The defensive line haul of Jordan Phillips, Marquis Anderson, Jordan Wade and Nathan Hughes is outstanding.

3. Texas Tech: The Red Raiders landed four huge defensive linemen on signing day, including switching Cooper Washington from Oklahoma.

4. Oklahoma State: The Cowboys addressed major needs on the defensive line and held on to Rivals100 running back Herschel Sims.

5. Texas A&M: Beating Texas for defensive end Brandon Alexander on signing day was big and landing Rivals250 corner Floyd Raven in the afternoon was even bigger.

6. Kansas: Running back Darrian Miller could make an immediate impact for the Jayhawks. Coach Turner Gill also signed some very good pass rushers.

7. Missouri: The Tigers struggled a bit on the recruiting trail, but finally having four-star defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson on campus is huge.

8. Baylor: The Bears took a hit when Nila Kasitati defected to Oklahoma, but they held off a late Texas run at Rivals250 offensive tackle Spencer Drango.

9. Iowa State: Cyclones got two big prospects out of the state of Florida in running back DeVondrick Nealy and wide receiver Quenton Bundrage.

10. Kansas State: Bill Snyder went heavy on the junior college players again. The Wildcats hope quarterback Justin Tuggle can make even close to the impact as his predecessor at Blinn, Cameron Newton.
