The support of the fans here has been great and my time as a Husker will never be forgotten."
NU head coach Bo Pelini wished Green the best in a written statement and hopes that he can find success in the future wherever he may land.
"Cody Green is a tremendous young man and we appreciate the contributions he has made to this football program," Pelini said. "The decision to leave was very difficult for me and my family," Green said. "It was by far one of the hardest things I've ever done. Green's departure now officially leaves NU with two scholarship quarterbacks on the roster in Taylor Martinez and Brion Carnes for the 2011 season. They also have two walk-on quarterbacks in Ron Kellogg and Tyson Broekemeier, and there's still a possibility Bubba Starling could come to Nebraska as well.
