Tour of SEC camps

Already owning a trio of BCS offers, Natchez, Miss., native Jaborian McKenzie spent the past several days on the campus of a pair of SEC schools. And the Trinity Episcopal rising senior displayed the certain skills he possesses that has helped him earn previous offers.

McKenzie participated in Ole Miss' camp over the weekend and then made his way to Starkville for MSU's camp.

"It went good at Ole Miss and I felt I did pretty good," said McKenzie. "They haven't offered me yet but they showed me a lot of interest. I like their coaches and their facilities and it was good to be on their campus."

And McKenzie also experienced another good showing at Mississippi State.

"It went real good and I ran a good forty time with a 4.39," said the 5-foot-8 and 170-pound McKenzie. "It also felt good to go through a lot of practice reps with Coach Greg Knox. I picked up a lot of good cutting techniques to help me with my footwork. I only stayed one day but it was a good day."

McKenzie currently owns offers from Vanderbilt, Indiana, Kansas State, Southern Miss, Memphis and UAB. And he's also hoping to hear some good news from other schools in the future.

"Coach Chris Wilson and Coach Knox said they would get back with me after all their camps end," said McKenzie. "That sounded encouraging to me and they want me back for the Big Dawg camp. They are still not sure if they like me more as a running back or as a slot receiver."

With MSU showing interest for awhile now, McKenzie has long noted of his fondness of the Bulldogs' program.

"If Mississippi State offered me then they would be tops on my list," said McKenzie. "I like the atmosphere up there and I have a comfortable feeling on campus. I just like that place and the coaches are real nice."
