2013 QB high on the Bulldogs

Next year looks to be a year that Mississippi State will have to look for a QB. With Chris Relf graduating, the Bulldogs will be looking for a dual threat quarterback to help fill his shoes.

One of the early candidates for the job is Richmond Hill, Ga., signal caller Dominique Allen. Allen is a 6-foot-1, 210-pounder that has already been to MSU once and plans to make a return trip.

Allen received an invitation to attend a camp at Mississippi State and he was quick to jump on it. He came away with a very favorable impression of the Bulldogs.

"I went there this summer," Allen said. "I was very excited to receive that invitation. One of the things that stood out to me was the campus. It was the nicest one I have ever seen. Everything looked brand new. Coach (Les) Koenning told me that I was very impressive and that MSU would be on me very hard. He said that I would be one of the QB's they try to get next year. Coach Les is a great guy. Another thing that impresses me is Dan Mullen. I love the offense that they run there. It's for sure a school I will look at hard."

The recruiting process has already started for Allen, and he is already hearing from several schools. Allen is taking everything in stride and is staying humble about the whole situation.

"I am just blessed to be in the situation I am in," Allen said. "I am hearing from Georgia, Mississippi State, Georgia Tech, Vandy, Georgia Southern, UCF, South Florida, and Miami. All of these schools are recruiting me at QB, but the Vandy coach said he would like to see me play LB for him. I know next year I plan on camping at Mississippi State again. And I will also go to camp at Vandy, Georgia Tech, Georgia, UCF and South Florida."

Tomorrow night will be a game time for the Richmond Hill Wildcats. Allen and his team mates will be trying to improve off of a season that saw them get the most wins the school has achieved in several years.

"I think we should be pretty good," Allen said. "We have a lot of the same guys returning from last year. It is the same competition as before. We beat ourselves a lot last year with dumb mistakes. We are working very hard on playing a complete game and getting rid of those mistakes."
