Homecoming for Darryl Cato-Bishop

Redshirt sophomore defensive end Darryl Cato-Bishop, who was a two-sport star in basketball and football at Lawrence Academy from Groton, Mass., noted there are a lot of people that have asked him to get tickets for the game.

"Only the close ones can come," Cato-Bishop stated. "I don't know yet. I got to keep collecting up. I got to see some guys on the team for some tickets.

"It's always good to play a game on Saturday, but especially to go back home and see your friends and family and see a lot of people I don't get to see much."

Cato-Bishop will feature prominently in the game. He has started six of nine contests this year despite playing with a cast on his right hand since the Georgia Tech game. He has 19 tackles, including three sacks, eight quarterback hurries, a forced fumble and a memorable interception against UNC last Saturday.

The pick came in the fourth quarter on the Heels' final offensive play and preserved the shutout victory. Cato-Bishop though is ready to move past that game.

"Coach always told us on Sunday when we have practice that win, lose or draw, we got to have the same approach," Cato-Bishop noted. "The game's over, it's a new week, new assignment, new game plan, new test for us as a team."

That's why Cato-Bishop, although he is excited to see family and friends this weekend as he makes his first trip to Boston College as a member of the State football team, is treating Saturday as a business trip.

"I look at every game at the same," Cato-Bishop said. "Every game from now on is a big game for us. That's how we got to approach it. Because I am going home, playing in front of people, my friends and family, doesn't mean it's going to be a different game. You got to go out there and win."

To that end, Cato-Bishop may be sending a statement when he takes the field on what could be a chilly Saturday afternoon at Chestnut Hill, Mass.

"I told them it might snow, you never know with the weather up there, but I'm going up there with no sleeves anyway," Cato-Bishop said.
