Stanford stunned in Seattle

In one of the more anemic offensive showings in recent Stanford history, the Cardinal was upset 17-13 by Washington on Thursday night.

Stanford didn't score an offensive touchdown in the defeat, only mustering a pair of Jordan Williamson field goals and a pick-six by Trent Murphy. The end result was Stanford suffering its first Pac-12 loss to a team other than Oregon since 2009.

Stanford's defense was superb for most of the game, but a pair of second half Washington touchdowns, including a long run by Bishop Sankey on the final play of the third quarter.

Nunes finished the game 18-37 with no touchdowns, an interception (on an ill-fated fade route to Levine Toilolo on fourth down on the Card's final drive. Stepfan Taylorgained 75 yards but on an uncharacteristically low 3.5 yards per carry average.

Zach Ertz was the lone bright spot for Stanford on offense, catching six passes for 106 yards.

Meanwhile, Sankey led both teams in rushing with 144 yards and Price compiled similiar stats to Nunes despite being under duress all night, completing 19-37 passes for 177 yards with one touchdown against one interception.

Stay tuned to Cardinal Sports Report for more reaction from the game in the coming days.
