Slow the tempo

When Indiana has been at its best this season, it's been able to push the tempo of the game and overwhelm its opponents in transition on both ends of the floor. The Hoosiers love to use their unmatched athleticism to get fast-break points, and they're known for flustering teams with a relentless full-court pressure defense all game long. Nebraska has to be able to keep the Hoosiers under control, work the shot clock on offense and own the glass on both ends to prevent any second-chance scoring or transition opportunities. The lower the score in this one, the better off NU will be.
Contest everything

As if slowing Indiana's offense down wasn't hard enough, once the Hoosiers do have to work out of their half-court sets, they're one of the most accurate shooting teams in the country. IU ranks second nationally in scoring (83.2 ppg) and leads the Big Ten in field goal percentage (.502) and 3-point percentage (.425). When they're not knocking down 3-pointers, they're getting the ball to one of the best drive-and-scorers around in Victor Oladipo or dishing it to All-American center Cody Zeller. The plan is to make Indiana win with jump shots, so NU has to make every shot as difficult as possible.
Don't be intimidated

Playing the No. 1 team in the country in one of the most historic venues in college basketball is more than enough reason Nebraska could be a bit overwhelmed when it takes the court at Assembly Hall tonight. When the Huskers play timid, they haven't stood a chance against the top teams in the Big Ten (i.e. Ohio State and Minnesota). When they play without any fear though - such as against Michigan and Michigan State - they've given those teams as much as they could handle. Confidence will be huge tonight, and a hot start could do wonders in that regard.

Head coach Tim Miles on playing at Assembly Hall:

"I broke into that gym when I was in college. I trespassed, but the statute of limitations is out, so sorry folks. We had a lot of fun. Then we jumped the fence at Larry Bird's house down in French Lick. So it was a good weekend… Don't tell my mom. Just keep it between us."
Senior forward Brandon Ubel on where Indiana's Cody Zeller ranks among the best big men he's faced:

"Near the top. He's definitely one of the best. People are talking about him being a lottery pick in the NBA, and I've faced a lot of guys that have ended up doing that. But he's definitely near the top. He plays really hard for 40 minutes, which is probably one of the best things that he does. He's not just talented, he plays hard all the time."

Indiana 76-64
