The Florida Gators have ended this week on a hot streak along the recruiting trail, picking up three verbal commitments in as many days. The latest coming from Baton Rouge (La.) University Laboratory School 2016 cornerback Tre Jackson, who is the second verbal commitment in UF's 2016 class and the son of former Florida wide out Jack Jackson.

"I was talking with Coach [Will] Muschamp and [Derek] Lewis about my decision," explained Jackson of his commitment. "It felt so right and like I was coming home to be a Gator. The coaches are great, I love T-Rob [UF defensive backs coach Travaris Robinson] and all of them they are great."

Coach Muschamp let the 5-foot-8, 156-pounder know that even though there are still three years remaining until 2016 National Signing Day, the class will be a good one for the Gators.

"Coach Muschamp was excited and said they already have [2016 wide receiver] Tyler Byrd in the 2016 class and that it was shaping up to be a real strong class."

Jackson said that his father, former UF wide receiver Jack Jackson, is excited to keep the Orange and Blue as part of the family legacy.

"It is great to go to the same school and gives me perspective of what he went through," explained the younger Jackson. "I can keep doing things for UF just like my family already has. Hopefully I can make my mark and be known just like him."

Jackson, who stood out at a UF camp session in June, was set to visit for the Gators annual Friday Night Lights Camp, but did not get to make it down. He is however already looking into a return visit to the Sunshine State sometime in the fall.

"I probably will be down for a couple games this season," explained Jackson. "I am trying to get to the Tennessee game as of right now."
