Instant Analysis: Prather leads Florida to big victory

No. 11 Florida Gators basketball (2-1) picked up its second victory of the regular season, a good start to a three-game home stretch, by dominating the Arkansas-Little Rock Trojans (0-2) in the second half and coming up with an 86-56 victory at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center. Below is a Instant Analysis of Florida's latest win.

IT WAS OVER WHEN: Florida exploded on a 17-4 run in the second half that gave the Gators a 60-43 lead with 8:53 remaining in the contest. UF and Arkansas-Little Rock were tied at 27 following the first half, but UF outscored UALR by 30 in the final 20 minutes.

HE STOLE THE SHOW: In his first game as a member of the Florida basketball team, redshirt sophomore forward Dorian Finney-Smith finished with 17 points on 5-of-10 shooting (3-for-4 from downtown) with nine rebounds. Though another Gators player had a better overall game (more on him in a bit), Finney-Smith impressed greatly in his first appearance and provided a glimpse of things to come this season.

THIS STAT DOESN'T LIE: 24-14, which was Florida's rebounding margin in the second half. The Gators were out-rebounded by seven in the first half and head coach Billy Donovan obviously lit into his team at halftime as the effort was simply not there in the first 20 minutes.

WHAT A PLAY: Senior F Casey Prather, who stole the show just as much as Finney-Smith did, got the crowd on its feet with a one-handed jam off a pass from freshman point guard Kasey Hill with 16:56 remaining in the game. He left the court with a game-high 27 points (one shy of his career-high) on near-perfect 10-of-11 shooting with five boards and five dimes. Prather also had a steal and a block and was 6-of-8 from the free throw line.

THIS MATCH-UP PROVED KEY: The Gators had no answer for Trojans F Will Neighbour early in the game but did clamp down on him significantly in the second half. No matter who was on Neighbour, he found a way to put some points on the board and keep the game close. Neighbour posted a team-high 21 points while grabbing eight rebounds on the afternoon.
