Jones ready for The Swamp?

Tampa (Fla.) Middleton linebacker A.J. Jones will announce his decision Wednesday night on local cable and is choosing between Alabama and Florida. In another battle between the Gators and the Crimson Tide, it looks like Urban Meyer and his staff will win out.

This one is much easier to predict than the decisions of quarterback Tim Tebow and linebacker Brandon Spikes, both of whom chose Florida over Alabama in tight battles. Jones took his Alabama visit back in December and enjoyed it and the Tide have done a great job recruiting him, but Jones is very familiar with the Gators staff and has always seemed like a strong lean.

South Carolina entered the picture last week with a strong official visit experience for the 6-foot-1, 182-pounder and Steve Spurrier would love to steal Jones away. Ohio State and Southern Cal also offered good weekend experiences, but in the end this one looks clear as the Gators get their man. Jones will trip to Florida officially this weekend to celebrate his decision.

Forecast: Florida
Confidence Level: High
