Moreno should be tested by Tiger defense

Each Friday, Rivals.com's college football experts give fans five things to keep an eye out for over the course of the weekend.

Georgia redshirt freshman TB Knowshon Moreno
Moreno's recent performances have Georgia fans wondering if he could become the Bulldogs' best back since Herschel Walker.

By the end of the weekend, we should have a better measure of the strength of Moreno and his team.

Moreno has rushed for 547 yards in his past three games (Vanderbilt, Florida and Troy). But he faces the toughest challenge of his career Saturday against an Auburn defense that limited Darren McFadden to 43 yards on 17 carries in a 9-7 victory over Arkansas.

A big performance against the defense that shut down McFadden would make Moreno's star rise even higher while also giving Georgia a second signature win just two weeks after its 42-30 triumph over Florida.

The Bulldogs haven't beaten Florida and Auburn in the same year since 1982, which also marked Walker's last season between the hedges.

Kansas at Oklahoma State
Will Oklahoma State come out determined for redemption, or will the Cowboys remain in a state of shock after last week's collapse against Texas. OSU gave up 24 points late to lose 38-35. How the Cowboys play could determine Kansas' future in the BCS race, and maybe coach Mike Gundy's future in Stillwater.

The Cowboys' season could go in the tank if they don't beat Kansas on Saturday. A loss to the Jayhawks would make the Cowboys 5-5 with games remaining against Baylor (win) and Oklahoma (loss). A 6-6 record would be considered a huge disappointment for Mike Gundy's talent-laden squad. You have wonder if a mediocre season coupled with Gundy's embarrassing press conference tirade earlier this fall would be enough to warrant a change in Stillwater.

Whether Wisconsin TB P.J. Hill plays against Michigan
Hill missed the Badgers' matchup with Ohio State last week in Columbus, which turned into a 38-17 Buckeyes rout. Hill's status remains uncertain for Saturday's game in Madison against the Wolverines. Hill, the Badgers' leading rusher, is suffering from tightness and soreness in his left leg. He had an MRI which revealed only a bruise, no break. His ability to play, which would allow coach Bret Bielema to pound the ball against Michigan's defense, could make the difference in this one.

California QB Nate Longshore
He frankly hasn't played all that well in the past three games, going 65 of 106 with four TDs and six picks. Cal is 1-2 in those games, with the lone victory coming against lowly Washington State. For the Golden Bears to beat USC on Saturday, Longshore needs help from his running game and must avoid turnovers. Cal's home crowd will be a boost, but Longshore has to be sharp.

The high stakes in Knoxville
Arkansas' trip to Tennessee is getting the Lincoln Financial treatment, meaning it has been deemed to have second-tier importance by TV networks. But the game will have as much importance as any SEC game this week. Despite its troubles this season, Tennessee controls its destiny for a trip to the SEC Championship Game; a loss could open the door for another team. As for Arkansas, Darren McFadden reasserted himself in the Heisman race with 321 yards against South Carolina last week. Another soft defense awaits him this week.
