Posey will let his play do the talking

SAN ANTONIO - Cincinnati (Ohio) LaSalle wide receiver DeVier Posey is a five-star prospect and the No. 3 receiver in the country, so no one would correct him if he predicted big things for himself in the U.S. Army All-American game. Like a seasoned veteran, though, Posey does not plan on filling the other team's bulletin board.

"I don't like making predictions, but I can tell you I am going to work hard," Posey said.

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound receiver is already making future head coach Jim Tressel proud with quotes like that, but Posey also does not plan on ruining an opportunity he has looked forward to since his freshman year.

"It seems like it has been about four years I have been wanting to be here, but now I'm here and ready to play some football," Posey said. "I've been seeing all these guys I see on the Internet and you just get really excited, want to see how really good they are and if you can match up with their skills."

Ohio State has the second largest number of commitments playing in the game, but Posey would not mind adding a few more Buckeye commitments to list by week's end. Either way, he looks forward to the time with his future mates.

"I think it is good for Ohio State to build that team chemistry a little bit before everything gets started next year. It's going to be a long week and we're just going to have fun" said Posey. "It's good to spend time with guys like (Terrelle) Pryor and Josh Jenkins that we are trying to get to come.

"I think me and Josh have a relationship that is on a whole other level than recruiting. Me and him have a special bond where we talk about things not recruiting. [With Pryor] we don't really talk about [recruiting] when we talk. I just talk to him about normal things. I was trying to room with him when I was down here and hopefully it all works out, but if it doesn't, that's okay."

Pryor will actually be rooming with fellow Western Pennsylvania native and Pitt commitment Jonathan Baldwin, but Posey ultimately believes the nation's No. 1 prospect will be a Buckeye when all is said and done.

"I like Ohio State's chances, but he's going to have to do what's best for him and his family," Posey said. "Hopefully he picks Ohio State."

Recruiting talk will take backseat again this week because the focus will be on football. Posey said he expects practice talk between he and Pryor will be mostly about finding him downfield early and often.
