Fall Depth Chart Projection: 2nd Team defensive tackle
Spring Review: At the start of spring ball he was still battling some health and conditioning issues, but as spring practice progressed, he seemed to be starting to find his stride. He wasn't really a standout, but he was noticeably improved from a conditioning standpoint
Fall Projection: Despite Urban Meyer being on an 'Omar Hunter Watch' before the start of last year, the true freshman simply wasn't ready to contribute. That should change significantly in 2009. As the top backup to Terron Sanders, if healthy and in shape, there's no way Hunter isn't part of the rotation in some form or another this fall. He doesn't seem to have great burst off of the ball, but he can be a load in the middle plugging holes and occupying blockers.
Others who wore the number: Lutrell Alford (2004-07), Howard Lingard (2003), Ian Scott (2001-02), Buck Gurley (1997-2000), McDonald Ferguson (1992-96), Tim Paulk (1988-91), Henry Brown (1984-87), Roy Harris (1981-83), John Whittaker (1980), John Spinks (1977), Sammy Green (1973-75)
*Listed as a sophomore, but he will likely be awarded a medical hardship redshirt for the 2008 season sometime over the summer
