10 Insider Recruiting Tidbits

It may be a little quiet on the football front with this being a bye week and all, but things are definitely heating up on the recruiting trail as the Florida coaching staff hits the road this week.
Here are 10 Football Recruiting Insider Tidbits to help hold you over.

Five-star offensive tackle Martez Ivey has been relatively quiet along the recruiting trail so far this fall. However, the No. 1 rated offensive tackle in the nation confirmed with Inside the Gators that he is looking to take his official visit to Florida when the Gators host LSU. Auburn and Florida are the co-leaders for the 6-foot-5, 271-pounder.
Five star defensive end CeCe Jefferson has been to Florida three times this fall but has finally set up his first official visit. Oddly it is Ole Miss that is looking to host this Rivals100 pass rusher first. The Rebels have been flying well under the radar for Jefferson and look to join Florida, Alabama, Florida State and Georgia as school that are whispered to be among the finalists for his services.
On Monday Florida head coach Will Muschamp was on the recruiting trail in the Tampa area. A few prospect that had Muschamp stop by their school are Rivals250 wide receiver Ryan Davis, Five-star Clemson commit Ray-Ray McCloud III, 2016 Rivals250 cornerback Craig Watts, and 2016 five-star targets Shavar Manuel and Nate Craig.
With the Gators being off this weekend, the coaching staff will look to hit the recruiting trail on Friday to see some targets in action. Defensive line coach Brad Lawing is expected to be at Rivals100 Aggies commit Daylon Mack's game, South Florida area recruiter Travais Robinson will view wide receiver target Antonio Callaway and defensive back Davante Davis in action, and running backs coach Brian White will be at five-star running back Damien Harris' game.
Five-star defensive end Byron Cowart did not make the visit to Tallahassee this past weekend to watch FSU defeat Clemson in overtime. Instead Cowart stayed home and got to watch Florida take on Alabama. Cowart, who is looking to officially visit Florida when they host South Carolina and FSU when they host the Gators, is still holding off to see what happens with Florida's season. Despite being embarrassed at Alabama, Cowart actually had nicer things to say about the Gators effort after the defeat than many actual Florida fans. Other than Florida and Florida State, he will visit Oregon and perhaps LSU this fall as well.
Four-star linebacker Tevon Coney was planning to make his commitment at the end of this month. However he has since pushed back that date but is unsure of an exact day of his announcement. The only thing Coney says he knows for sure at this time is that it would be at the earliest after he takes his official visit to Florida for the LSU game. Notre Dame and Florida are the co-leaders for this South Florida defender with Miami on the outside looking in.
A name Florida is trying to keep in contact with despite being committed to another school is four-star wide receiver Auden Tate. The Rivals250 member pulled the trigger for Florida State last month but has still kept lines of communication open with the Orange and Blue. Whether anything becomes of it, we don't know, but Tate is still listening.
The Gators offered three-star LSU commitment Matt Womack last week. Womack recently visited Alabama, who also offered, which tells me he is genuinely interested in visiting other schools. That being said he's already looking to take an official visit to Florida when the Gators host the Missouri Tigers.
Three-star athlete Javarius Davis posted on his twitter last week that he decommitted from North Carolina, but quickly deleted the tweet. Then a day later exchanged messages with the North Carolina Rivals site in which he confirmed that he no longer considers himself decommitted and would name his finalists this week. Even though he hasn't officially named his new leaderboard, and will likely take a few official visits, Florida is likely the frontrunner.
This weekend four-star linebacker Jerome Baker, the Gators highest ranked 2015 commitment, will be visiting Ohio State for their game against Cincinnati. The Buckeyes were a finalist for the Rivals100 member before his verbal pledge to the Gators. He also plans to visit Tennessee and Michigan State possibly this fall as well and will be at UF for their game against LSU, but is unsure if that will be officially or unofficially.
