3-2-1: Thoughts on Florida's homecoming victory over Missouri

Inside the Gators now reviews Florida's 40-14 homecoming win over Missouri on Saturday with a 3-2-1 report. We provide three observations, present two questions and make one prediction as the Gators head into their bye week.

Three things we learned this week:

1. Freshman running back Lamical Perine continues to be utilized as a multi-faceted weapon for the Gators.

Perine had another productive outing for Florida on Saturday, rushing for a team-high 106 yards on 11 carries while catching a pass for 31 yards that helped set up a touchdown drive in the third quarter capped off by Tyrie Cleveland's 20-yard score. It was the second 100-yard rushing game for Perine this season - entering this weekend only five FBS true freshman had recorded multiple 100-yard rushing games in 2016. He's the first Gators freshman to pull off the feat since Jeff Demps in 2008 and the seventh to do so since 1955, also joining the company of Fred Taylor (1994), Errict Rhett (1990), Emmitt Smith (1987), Neal Anderson (1982) and Tony Green (1974).

Perine found a role in the offense in the Wildcat, but overall the Theodore, Ala., native found more success in the kickoff return game Saturday. He returned his lone kickoff Saturday for 41 yards to start the second half - at that moment a season-best for the Gators, before Antonio Callaway returned an onside kick 44 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
