Inside the Gators' 3-2-1 report presents three observations, two questions and a prediction following Florida's 38-28 road loss to Tennessee on Saturday.
Three things we learned this past week:
--Florida failed to respond to Tennessee's second-half adjustments in the third quarter, which proved to be the turning point of the game.
After racking up 300 total yards in the first half, Florida recorded just eight in the third quarter. The Volunteers got off 19 plays during those 15 minutes, as Florida had just 11 with four consecutive drives from the start of the third quarter to the start of the fourth being three-and-outs. The Gators rarely tested the deep ball in the second half and took a conservative, run-first approach with the offense, which Tennessee stymied by loading the box and overall getting a better push up front than Florida's blockers. Florida's screen plays became too predictable, and Tennessee had no issue swarming to the ball against those.
